The woman who married three times

11th April 2014, Friday

Recently have just finished the drama stated above. Its an low key drama, but has relatively scored a significant viewership. I also started off from their 16 plus episodes but I was stuck with them all the way till the end. This drama style is not to capture you instantly, but it captures with their normal life-like conversations.

Literally from the drama, this is a about a life of a lady who had married twice and divorced respectively. Will she get married the third time? You see her struggles, her choice whether it is her right decision as she moves on in life.

The writer, being a famous writer (I have also watched her other dramas, equally good and touching), is well known for her endearing scripts. I can't really explain, its the everyday vibe her scripts had written in. The characters talked about life, just about really what you see in typical korean families. The drama, being able to sync with the viewers as one, and I think that's why its able to garner so much viewership nearing climax and all till the end.

It can't be compared to the makjang drama kim's family books because its not the typical exaggerated drama. But I like it. A typical housekeeper can even get equally as many lines as the other leads. They even get their own exclusive scenes and they just mumble off while doing their housework. How strange is that in the beginning I found that. Why are they given extra scenes? But later on I began to enjoy those scenes because that is through a third party eyes that depict the perspective of the family.

I liked that the housekeeper still works for the family when she is always insulted by the house mistress. Because that is life.

I like how the aunt in the house pacify her housekeeper everytime she is having difficulty with the house mistress.

I like that the female lead divorced her first marriage because that is life. She is a nice lady, but the her mother in law just doesn't like her.

I like how her family all supported the female lead's choices. She is especially close to her elder sister and they have always called each other. Her elder sister always comes to her when she needs help.

Something her second mother in law lamented which is so true and speaks of the generation gap:

내가 자존심땜에 이 결혼을 참았는데 그 얘가 자존심땜에 못 참겠어.

And her cute daughter. When she found out that she is pregnant with her second husband.

When she learnt that her mother won't be seeing her second child, it was so touching and yet heartbreaking. I'm sure a lot of viewers must have cried.

And the way the female lead tolerated her sadness all the way till at home, when she is in her room, then she let out her tears quietly. That was so so so heart tugging.

Lee ji a isn't considered a very good actress as compared to the writer's other drama's leads like Su ae. However she had did it fairly, but at times I hoped that she could have some other hidden emotions that we could see! After all its a drama; somehow the leads have to show us something if not we wont know whats happening.

I'm willing to give her another chance.

Answer Me 1997 - the painful one-sided loves

Do not have the time to watch dramas nowadays, no idea why. I used to remember I have time for all of these, but these recent 2 years I have gradually stopped and resorted to reading their recaps, until some good ones really attract my attention to chase the drama.

Have been following this drama recaps - Answer Me 1997 for quite a while. And while reading it, I can totally feel the realistic vibe from the students. Even the recappers have been talking about how it feels so good. The drama year revolves about teenagers from 80s. Fandom, school life, first loves.

There was a few that I like and thus sharing it here. A painful one-sided love. Episode 10.

Joon-hee: The reason I like you? Because you're that person. Because you're you. Is there another reason besides that one? I'd rather know the reason if there was one. Then I could find a way to not like you. If I can't avoid it, then there's only one thing I want: to remain by your side, unchanged, for a long time. Here's to our love, that chills our hearts. (toasts)

Joon-hee asked Yoon-jae: Why do you like her (Shi-won)?
Joon-hee: “Isn’t Shi-won the person you’re closest to in the whole world, like a twin? You like it when you’re together, and it’s comfortable, and even if you’re not doing anything, there’s no awkwardness between you. That’s what I was always most envious of. Isn’t that why you like her?”Yoon-jae says no, he’s wrong about that. Joon-hee: “Then why? Why do you like Shi-won?”
Yoon-jae: Because... she's pretty. Awwww.

Its the same for Yoo-jung and Hak-chan coupling.
Yoo-jung: Why do you like me?
Hak-chan: Because you're cute, and pretty.

How about Shi-won and Tae-woong?
Shi-won: Oppa, Why do you like me? Because I'm like Song-joo unnie?
Shi-won asks if Tae-woong likes her because she reminds him of unni, but he says no, he did at first, but not now. “Because you’re pretty.”
She points out her un-pretty features, but he says she’s still pretty in his eyes. “Though, not in anyone else’s.”

Back to their reunion, someone answered in the same manner too.
Because she's pretty. Because everything about her, from her wrinkles to her moles, is pretty in his eyes.
So sweet. P.s. Due to translation difference, the pretty here does not only refer to the appearance. Subtlely, it refers to a person being pretty as a whole. A pretty heart. A pretty smile. A pretty vibe. Just everything is pretty about her. Quotes taken from dramabeans.

You are so beautiful by JYJ / TVXQ Junsu

Absolutely love this song to bits right now. You are so beautiful~
The chemistry between Kim Sun ah and Lee Dong Wook is amazingly sizzling!

Can I just spazz a bit on them? Haha. Scent of a woman is a must watch! Especially the tango scenes between them, my heart was buzzing with excitement and left me for moreeeee.
Too bad this fan-made mv below doesn't include the tango scenes yet, if there is, I will embed them here. Hee.

And can I rant on something. How come SBS doesn't allow us to copy their drama pictures from their photo album on their website??! So sad... Grrr..I remembered I was able to copy them before... >.< Sigh anyways.

Today is National day, but why does it feels like a saturday or sunday to me?
The song is so sweet. Junsu's voice melts me. Plus his cameo in Scent of a woman is so adorable.
"Do you like my appearance? Or my melodic voice? Or my perky butt? Hahahahahahaha.

State of art? or?

29th July 2011, Friday
Interesting. He was staging outside Takashimaya and created a crowd snapping him. I was among them. Hah.
But I quickly snapped this only one photo and left as I'm going to be late!

On a sidenote, I'm recently in love with this song, I absolutely love the beginning of the song.
Its because of the drama, You've fallen for me that I got to know this song. The rock part, after listening to so many times in the drama (!!), I've gotten tired of it. Haha. Its the acoustic guitar part that is so charismatic.
Oh, and did you notice the camera inside? It looks fab. Edit: Another fan-made video featuring the later drama parts.

Dance 춤 - Clazziquai's 2nd album: Colour your soul

A colleague of mine, who had finished watching Secret Garden asked me about a song that appeared in episode 1 last week. Totally clueless about what she was asking about, she then showed me that part in the video clip where Han Tae Sun was singing in a club, and then Oska was mesmerized by his vocals.

Back at home now then I started to find out about the song, by re-watching episode 1 and then gasping on it later on why I had missed out on such a nice song. I suppose its the lack of time that I had just watched once and then skipping it later. A google on it lands me on clazziquai. My goodness its from CLAZZIQUAI!!

Turns out it is a song from Clazziquai. Dance. I love clazziquai. Even though some of their songs were not my style, like the recent electronica style from 4th album (Mucho punk). But their jazz songs were always my favourite.

I can't seem to find Sun's version. Perhaps it wasn't recorded...

노래: Here I am - 4men + 美 (시크릿 가든)

Here I am – 4men + 美

Here I am 여기 Here I am
Here I am

Here I am 지금 Here I am
Here I am

Here I am

Here I am 여기 Here I am
Here I am

Here I am

Here I am
